Grand Master Challenge returns to Ireland!

Back in September 2015, we visited Dublin to take part in, and provide Super Turbo for Celtic Throwdown. We were very kindly asked to come back again, so of course we accepted!

Celtic Throwdown 2016 is now starting to creep into view and will be taking place on the 3rd and 4th of September.  There will be a solo double elimination tournament taking place on Saturday and a 2vs2 team tournament on the Sunday.  You can check out the official schedule here to see all the other games that will be available.

We will be there with our trusty UD CPS2 and full kit, meaning a 40″ screen for spectators, a screen for the brackets, the head to head CRT setup, headsets and so on.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the UD CPS2, it’s a CPS2 arcade board that has been modified by Undamned to support Xbox 360/PS3/Xbox One and PS4 controllers (Xbox One and PS4 are in beta, so bring a 360 or PS3 control to be sure).  More information on the system can be found here.

We had a lot of fun at Celtic Throwdown.  It was great to see an entirely different set of players and to be part of a different scene.  Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and the event was superbly run. The guys at Celtic Throwdown have supported us from the start and Super Turbo has been integrated into the event as one of the staple games – not just a side tournament; and we can’t speak highly enough of that kind of support.

We are expecting a few European visitors this time, so this is defintely the event to come to if you want to meet new Super Turbo players!

Registration is being handled through the Celtic Throwdown website and can be found here.  Be sure to visit the official website for full details.  This page is purely for information related to the Super Turbo tournament.
