Play to win

Super Turbo returns to Play Expo!

We are proud to be working with Manchester Battle Arena again to bring Super Turbo to their Fight Series tournament that will be held on their home turf of Manchester, on Saturday 8th and and Sunday 9th of October 2016!  Make your way to the bottom of the page for the event summary.

Play Expo is a huge event filled with tournaments, merchandise, classic and rare consoles, arcade and pinball machines just to name a few of the attractions, and the Manchester Expo is by far the biggest.

Just take a look at some of the photos for a better idea

Play Expo is a very important event for us as a community as it’s a gateway between people with an interest in retro games and competitive Street Fighter.  There is a huge number of retro games players who love titles like Street Fighter 2, who don’t even realise that people play it competitively and that it has such a great community, so this is our chance to show them and get them involved.

Due to the nature of the event, we are likely to see a great selection of players including some of the best in the country.  We know that there is some tough competition in the North West and we expect Manchester to be fiercely defending their turf!

The tournament will be played on UD CPS2, so remember to bring a control along!  Our system supports Xbox 360, PS3 and also supports a large number of Xbox One and PS4 controls too.

Play Expo is a 2 day event and Fight Series is also taking place on both days.  Manchester Battle Arena will be presenting Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Killer Instinct on Saturday and Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear XRD and King of Fighters 14 on Sunday.  We will also be there on Sunday to bring you some Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo action.

Registration information

The Super Turbo tournament itself is £5 to enter, and is payable on the day and forms the prize pot for the top 3.  For infomation regarding registration for other games, please see the event page.  Registration for Super Turbo is possible from 10:00 – 12:00 on Sunday the 1st of May and is payable to us – so look out for the guys wearing Grand Master Challenge t-shirts.

Registrations are strictly first come first served and places will not be held without payment.

The tournament will kick off at 12:30.

You’ll also need to pay your venue entry, which is done online through the Play Expo website.
